Well..i always sleep on the left side of the bed..my wife wants to be on the right side of the bed...if i fall a sleep on the right side..she will push me or wake me up..and tell me to move..and another thing...she has a pillow that she always want..she can not sleep with another pillow..so if i took it she will tell me to give it to her..one day i tried to see if she could understand if i changed the pillows..i took of the pillow quilt and exchanged it with another pillow..as soon as she was lying down..she realised that it was not her pillow..if we go to a hotel..she brings the pillow with her
I don't have any problems with pillows..i can even sleep without one

By the time I get home my wife and the dogs are sound asleep. I have to contend with the wife, her 4 big pillows and anywhere from 1 to 5 dogs on our queen bed. I sleep in almost any position where ever I can fit in. I'm happy just to be able to wrestle a pillow away from the dogs.

Right side of the bed for me and I usually sleep on my right side because we like to spoon The right side is closer to the alarm clock, which I need; my husband can get up at whatever time necessary without it There is a bathroom equal distance away from either side of the bed.

I sleep on the right side... by my radio/alarm clock, lamp, phone and glass of water. Also the nearest side to the bathroom.

I would have said there was no particular reason for it to be the right side, then I started thinking back to the last 3 places I've lived in and it's always been the right side. hmmm. Then I thought about when I was driving around the States living out of the back of my Bro's SUV. I set it up with me sleeping on the right and my backpack etc on the left. I'm beginning to see a pattern forming here.

Normally I sleep on the left side of the bed but I can't say that I fall asleep in one position in peticular. (hence the new nickname "Tumbleweed" )

I'm a lefty, but i sleep on my right side BUT i always wake up flat on my back

I also have to wiggle in around the cats because of my strange sleeping patterns, they are always in bed before me

I get to sleep on whichever side is closest to the exit. My hubby likes to sleep (and at restuarants, to eat) the furthers away but looking at the exit. That way if someone, like a robber (murderer) breaks in, he will see it first. But I would have my back to the exit. I keep telling him, "you might get to see it first, but I am the one closest and in harms way". He says, "He is not stupid]

I'm with you, TigerAngel! My bf likes to sit with his back to the wall, facing the exit at restaurants too. Same reason. My boss, on the other hand, is paranoid, and sits in the same place at restaurants so he knows if someone is listening to any conversation!

Back to the topic...

Sleep on the left side of a double bed, hugging a pillow on my left, but inevitably end up in the middle with a pillow squished up on either side of me, preferably with 2 doonas on top. I like being squashed.

And most of the time I don't even know you're at my house...

You seriously need to stop doing that... It makes my mom really angry.

this one may sound strange- what side of the bed do you sleep on and why? i can sleep on either side, but i have a definite preference for one side. my wife, fortunatley, prefers the other.

for the life of me, i cannot remember when, why, how, our preferences formed. is it hereditary? learned? any studies been done to determine the significance of sleeping on any given side?

and yes- this is meant to be a silly question. a little wierd (but true) when you think about it.

I always sleep on the right side of the bed because I've got a 10g tank w/a loud filter on the dresser at the left side of the bed. Even before I got the tank there I slept on the right side of the bed.

I think it's because when I was little, I was scared of some supposed monsters lurking under the bed, and the right side of the bed was against the wall, so that's where I slept

Right side, on my right side. I have two twins pushed together. My Lab, Beagle, and two cats get the other bed. Hubby sleeps in a different room (snores loudly)
