While having lunch visited a blog and noticed the guy said
Christmas cards in: 2
Christmas cards out: 4

Struck me as odd, only because I send mine out in one big batch. Then it occured to me some people may wait to get one and then post one in return.

Sooooooh, who does what?

Do you mail in one lot or send out in response only...

i don't do either. the people ordering 300 cards for themselves does me in.

i think i've printed over 10,000 cards the past week - with two weeks to go.....

erm, by bulk I didn't mean in the hundreds (that's one mighty big family! )

I meant if you usually send out two dozen each year. do you write and send in one hit or do you see who sends you one first.

Just a wonderin'...

I have about 40 odd sitting on the chair next to me waiting for their extra innards before posting

I do one huge mail out, wish-ga.. If I tried to break them up into bundles I'd most certainly forget to make it to the post office..

As for waiting to receive cards before I mail one out, I can see why folks do it, but it sounds like more hassle than anything.. I keep a list of addresses with my Christmas things.. When I receive a card from those people, I put a star next to their name or add their names to the list if they are new.. Folks that I have sent cards to for 2 years in a row, but haven't gotten any stars for me receiving a card from, get chucked off the list.. Not incredibly gracious, but postage is getting darn expensive and it keeps me from having to mail out tons of Christmas cards every year

We send ours out all at one time, but we do wait to the last minute because then my mom can make sure she's sent one to everyone who has sent her one. She saves all the envelopes so she can find the addy's. She has a lot of clients who send her cards, and we have a big family, so I couldn't even attempt to find and count all the cards we have already.

I used to send out quite a few, not in the hundreds though This year because of finances I decided to cut back. I always send mine out Dec 1, never waited to see who I received them from first.

Mail? Hmmm. Well being a student still I guess I don't do a whole lot of mailing (stamps are expensive! Plus I don't really have that many good friend far off). But what I did was:

Made 30 cards (didn't make them for specific people), distributed them to people I know at the Christmas party that we had. For the few people I really care about who didn't make it to the party I made a few afterwards and gave them to them when I had the chance. Worked out nicely but I wish I made more than 30 cards.
