If it's less than 3 stories I'll use the stairs but more than that it's the elevator. I would like to say I use the stairs all the time but I'm just lazy I guess.

I love to take elevators in buildings with more than 25 stories...they usually have speed elevators that go much faster than normal elevators...

When going UP, it's always fun to jump right as the elevator hits it's highest peak and starts to slow down...especially on speed elevators... I hit my head on the celing of a speed elevator once, it knocked out a celing panel

I take the stairs everywhere, even when I was enormously pregnant. Unless my legs stop working, I will keep taking them.

Depends. Sometimes I use the stairs since it'd be faster. But on the band trip I was on the 14th floor. Luckily there wasn't a 13th floor, but going down all those stairs with luggage would be a REAL pain.

I use the stairs. (two at a time, because tall people have trouble with just one!])

Up to about 4-6 floors, but it also depends on if I am in a hurry, and the speed of the lifts in the building, too.

Half and half. I'm on the third floor, but in this heat I don't need to work out more than I already do! Plus I'm usually carrying heavy stuff home, and since I walk everywhere (no car) I'm too tired to take the stairs on top of it all!

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

it depends, at home on the 2nd floor, I walk, but not to my boyfriend's flat on the 12th floor

i'm going to say 'try to use stairs' on this here vote, as before i had my son i would always use the stairs (up as well as down!) even when i was heavily pregnant.. i used to find it amusing that i would often beat or match the lift to the floor.
also i used to be a bit like this = at the lazy ones who would get the lift to the next floor, when they are totally obviously fit and able! for heavens sake!!! lay-zeeee! AND they would stand and wait for the thing too - in which time they could have zipped up the stairs!

any wonder we are a nation of overweight potential heart attack victims!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am a lazy bum...thats why I have fish, dont have to walk them

i will take the stairs (two at a time of course ) as far as the 6th floor, but it seems most everyone takes the elevator as far away as the next floor so do you walk up (or down) the stairs or do you always take the elevator?

I am normally carrying my 20 month DD with me, and she weighs 29 lbs... I ride the elevator or I'd keel over by the time I got there... although occasionally I'll walk down stairs with her, not so bad then.
