Both require a lot of attention but ferrets in particular really need to be treated like a dog: lots of time, lots of attention, lots of care. For with species, you'd be MUCH better off with two or three - a couple of female Guinea pigs in a nice big tank that's changed every week (or more often), fresh alfalfa, and a place to run around, not to mention a towel you can park them on next to you when you're sitting around watching TV or browsing FishProfiles. For ferrets, a multilevel cage with two or three of either sex, at least one litter box, a room that's ferret-proofed in which they can run (with supervision!), a leash and harness for walking and taking out to socialize, a number of shots, a license in some areas, and some time spent litter-training. They're both wonderful, but the ferret's a bit more of a commitment, which isn't to say keeping Guinea pigs is a walk in the park. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
