hey,
i was in a pet store the other day and there was this big oscar in about a 2 foot tank. I was talking to the lady about him - she said he was brought in by someone who didn't want him any more. She said he was unusually shy and timid and thought that he might have been mistreated. He is in a tank on his own and has been there at least a few months. I wanted to buy him and give him a good home, but i have a 4 foot tank with tetras in it, and i've read that they need about a 200L tank. Also i have minimal filtration and this guy is already quite big. They are selling him for about $40. The pet store is in Dural (near castle hill and hornsby). He is a black and red one and is about 20 - 30 cms long (i think). Let me know if you want to give a fish a good home.

Oscars need a minimal of 75 gallons, which is ~300 liters off the top of my head. Bigger the better.
