*peers into ever growing library of aquarium books*

I agree with the above - here are links:

I can't remember who recommended it, but I found the Fishlopaedia
one of the most complete books I've got. It even covers many "what if" scenarios from vacation to moving fish, health issues, species, etc.

One of the best to spark creativity is called The Complete Aquarium. And look, you can get a used one at Amazon for just 7 bucks . What is nice about this book is they show the development of many tanks based on themes. A few examples of tanks they set up: Amazon Rain Forest Stream, Zaire River Rapids, East Africa Rocky Lake, and West Africa Floodplain Swamp. They show you rocks, woods, plants and fish native to those environments and how they would set it up.

For goldfish keeping, I wouldn't be without Fancy Goldfish. This book has everything you need to know about keeping goldies, from creating a safe, comfortable environment to recognizing and treating common health issues, and breeding. Excellent and worth the ***** rating.

Don't forget to check with your local library for these too.

I also recommend Tropical Fish Hobbyist, aka TFH
and Aquarium Fish Magazine

You may be able to skin through these at a Borders or Barnes & Noble
