my computer refuses to recognize it...it's quite complicated

see, i downloaded iTunes onto this computer
then i plugged the ipod in
a weird library came up...with a very select amount of songs and whatnot
i cant get the rest of the songs on the ipod to transfer to my computer so i can edit them
my computer wont read the ipod basically
and i want to rename it and such

you need 3rd party software to get the music *from* the ipod into your computer. it's designed so that you can't just copy music from ipod to computer, only from computer to ipod

That and the playlist is probably not associated with the computer you're trying to plug it in to. I trashed a whole ipod playlist doing that.
