Sealion!!!!
Ever sense the movie 'Andre'. Oh and the national geographic in biology about all the sealions and elephant seals off the kelp forrest by CA coast. I was awfull all the little sealions died from starvation and you saw all their little bones. I was ready to cry in the middle of class.

Add "squid" to my list. Those things are so intelligent. Friend was telling me about one she saw on tv that used to do raids on the other tanks in the labs to eat the crabs at night then go back to its own tank. Scientist set up a camera to figure out what had been happening. Really smart to work out a game plan for getting from tank to tank & back again without drying out.

Squids are on my list.

I think you're thinking of octopi...

Squids just use their fins to swim around in open water, and I don't believe they can actually crawl around like the octopus can.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

I'd like a flying bear.

Or a cow I could milk that gives cold beer instead of milk.

Well keeping with the pure fantasy thing, and thus meaning I can afford a couple of whole large cows once or twice per week to feed them, I would go with a breeding pair of Megladons.

And everyone on here, would be invited over, during feeding time. lol

i think that this post subject "improbable pets" explains itself

Exactly Faerina. People are giving lectures on the viability of keeping certain pets. This is supposed to be pure FANTASY.

You could say, unicorn, dinosaur, dragon or flying monkey and I would say 'cool, good for you'. I wouldn't say 'there's no such thing'.

It's all in fun...

i would have to say a wolf, lynx or a crow, i don't mean the small crows, i mean the huge ones, we have a few around here that are huge, dad says in the UK they are even larger, crows bring luck, at least my family thinks so.

i agree with koi keeper though, i had a friend who had a half wolf dog, wolves are different that normal dogs, and need to be treated differently and more cautiously, plus you would have to understand their behaviour 100%

i think that this post subject "improbable pets" explains itself, wild animals are wild, and trying to tame them for pets would be strictly draining their spirit to be free (exceptions to certainities) a lot of species do need our protection...from us

I didn't know what I'd like until I read Whetu's. I'd love a penguin. They're adorable and sizeable.
Then I read Gartenzwerfe's. A kiwi would be great too. They're so unqique.
Then I read Calla's. A manatee or dugong would be a fantastic pet for me, too. They are so friendly. I'd love swimming with them.

I can't decide . . .

I'm undecided.

I'm thinking a sealion... or a dugong

they both look so completely perfect, dugongs are just so serene tho.

Maybe i wuld have both, and play with the dugong when i was feeling like a party animal, and the dogong when i was having a spiriual moment....

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett
