don't you think that instead of disucs being known as the FW fing fish, shouldn't the asain arowana be known as the new FW king fish.

Nah. Frontosa maybe, but definitely a cichlid of some kind.

I think that the discus should always be known as the "King" of freshwater aquarium fish, kind of like Elvis will always be known as the "King" of rock-n-roll. Showing my age again I know, but somethings are just for the best.:88):88):88)

discus are definetly the kings of freshwater aquaria, jsut as angelfish are the queens of freshwater aquaria.

of course these are both titles given in the past but i think they def. deserve the titles even if they are sort of vintage.

Got to agree with LittleMousling on the Frontosa. What do you consider the basis for the title King/Queen?

Discus and angels, IMO, lack personality (something that I discovered firsthand in my discus/angel days). The frontosa looks more like an amberjack than a discus to me, the amberjack being the saltwater fish most commonly referred to as "kingfish".

i think the king of the aquarium is a true black piranha
they dominate in any tank
have more then enough personality
absolutely stuning fish n seem to b very inteligent as well

frontosas r nice fish if africans r ur fancy but discus r jsut swimming plates as angels r jsut swimming triangels to me

also after seeing both asian n silver arowannas i like silvers body style n movement better although i admit i have not seen a red asian in person
jsut my thoughts
