I was wondering if you could use a regular memory stick in a memory stick duo slot. I know there are converters to use a duo in a regular slot, but havn't seen or read anything about using it the other way around.

short answer - no.

long answer - no. because the memory stick is larger, and also thicker so they don't fit into the slot.

as to why you would, i don't know. most cameras are designed not to function if the media card door is open. And since most of the sonys these days have the memory stick compartment in the same area as the battery, it wouldn't work anyway.
