Naw, I'm upset because I went to college there (Southwestern OK state in Weatherford) met and married an Okie, and got stuck in a godforsaken town (Prague) in that state for 7 years.

Also, his family gives me s*** EVERY year at family reunions about OU and me being a Texan blah, blah, blah. To say nothing of the fact that my husband and I are now sperated and in the process of divorce & his mother is Satan incarnate. LOL Shoulda stayed in Texas. Dang Okies.

Interesting choice of words. So I'll just assume the town you now live in, is not Godforsaken.

LOL, Yeah, it godforsaken is too, but in a different way. LOL Prague, if you've ever been there, is a hell hole. LOL No WM (or anything like it), one grocery store, one stop light. Very clique-ish and hard to break into a set.

My ex-M-I-L is a different story. She's not all there mentally and she tells me all the time that I'm "going to hell" for a couple of different reasons:

1. Her son doesn't go to church and it's my fault because I used to go to a church that he "disagreed" with, so, somehow, this dooms me to the fiery lake.

2. I'll go to that great eternal damnation if I go through with this divorce even though her son cheated on me on more than one occasion.

Not trying to air any dirty laundry here, and it has very little to do with Oklahoma in and of itself. I think I would feel the same of any state no matter where it happened. I did hate living in that one horse town 50 east of OKC, though. Who knows, prolly any one horse town anywhere would be the same. Just like to take out my angst on OU. LOL Well, I also attended OSU for a semester so I was already biased against OU in Bedlam, and, of course, being native to Texas, I HAD to root for Texas whenever they played OU....it's a loyalty thing.

sorry, but OU had a chance to win that game at the end and missed the field goal. they might have gotten a bad call, but there is no way you can say they lost to the refs.

and who the hell invited florida to play for the title this year?? last i saw, they were ranked pretty far back. they have no business being ranked #2 imo....

Wow crazyred........ there is so much I could comment on there! But for the sake of this football thread, I will refrain from most of it. Also it seems somewhere that I read we weren't to discuss religion or politics on this site?? If I'm remembering right I wish someone would show me where it is, so I don't get carried away & do a no-no.

But I can't let your post go without ONE comment!!
Are you sure these towns are Godforsaken, or maybe it's the other way around.

moondog-My hubby rattled off a bunch of stuff about what you just said........... but it was all mumbo jumbo to me! But I did gather that he is in agreement with you about florida.

Fish patty---In this case, "godforsaken" is just a manner of speech (notice how I never capitlize g-o-d). I don't think it's the other way around....seriously. Perhaps the religious implication is too over blown here. What I really meant to imply was "sucky towns" LOL Is that better. I never meant to imply the God had literally "foresaken" any town currently in operation today.

They actually opened the forum up to religious and political discussions, within reason, but that's not my original intent of any of my posts....just painting a picture of the reasons I don't care for OU. No need for PM's I have no problems....except crazy family that I married into. 'Nuff said.

Moondog---I don't think any of the voters cared to see Ohio vs. Michigan rehashed. I read several articles on it today and they thought Florida deseverd it on strength of schedule and the fact that they won their conference. What needs to happen is for the BCS to be scrapped altogether and playoff's to happen. Highschool and Pros do it, why not the NCAA?? That can't be that greedy can they??

Ah crazyred! My hubby said that about BCS even before you posted it! And said they are just really greedy!

I love NCAA football....its sad that the season is over...but we still have bowl games to watch!
