I was very sad to hear this, as it was a wonderful shop that specialized in aquariums and ponds. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, and i enjoyed just stopping in to share photos and check out his new stock. His store was also close to home, a big plus when transporting fish. Now I'm left with a large retail chain store and a small general pet store all the way across town(very difficult drive). Neither store has the variety or specialist knowledge that made my old favorite so great. So support your local aquarium store or end up like me, waiting for ups to deliver my live cargo late and at insane shipping cost or driving way to far for a poor selection of aquarium supplies and fish/plants. |

Three fish/pet shops have closed in the past few years around here, leaving a big chain and a small pet shop. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

Two small chains also went. My closest good LFS is now a 45 minute drive. I have three nearby, but they are more 'consumer fish' than aquarium specialists. |
