i went to the omaha zoo today and saw big fish. who are commonly abused in excellent conditions. here a list of what i saw

arapima giga (things were huge)
pacus(should put picture of how big they are next to them in lfs)
tinfoil barbs(school of over 100)
oscars(surprising never seen them there)
various vict cichlids(saw one with 2ft round hole built and was still building
many common plecs
red-tail cat(big)
firemouths( lots of them over 100)

Did you see the oscar(s?) in the big american pond with all the guppies and mollies and pacus in the rainforest? or do they have more in another place now?

They used to have Silver Arowannas in with the Arapima...the Arapimas ate the Arowannas!

Did you know that they have Rhinopias in the aquarium?

i didn't get any pics. no dig camera. and yes the giga can get that big but the ones they had were about 8-10ft. i saw the oscars in the pond. know they used to have arowanas but didn't see any

JD has been there for at least 6 months or so. He hides near the logs if you are facing it on the far left side

I can't possibly post them all as I have hundreds from that zoo. I am a member and it is not quite 10 minutes away.

Okay...I didn't look around in the logs... I just saw the oscar and pacu swimming around in the middle of the pond. Next time I go I'll have to look for him
