ooooo so happy. Just had to say somin coz theres no other fishy people here.

Saw a fluval 303 going cheap on ebay and it just so happend that they lived local as well so could cut down on postage costs by collecting. Won the auction 26.....was happy enough with that.

He said he would be in all day today so collect when ever so just went round. He had just gone down the dump but his wife was in so gave me the filter. While in the garage she goes " Oh we've got a tank you can have as well. Its only going down the dump if you dont want it so you can have it for free". Looked in the back of the garage and there is sitting a 4ft tank in need of some tlc....

Needless to say I said yes straight away. Got in in the car......just. And then to really top if off she said you can have the stand as well.

Blimey so not only a cheap filter but free 40 gallon tank with stand as well. Must be my lucky day

thanks

As for stocking I have absoulutley no idea as yet. More thinking about cleaning it - does it leak and where the heck to put it at the moment.

I'm pretty sure that if all works out ok that i'll be back asking for stocking ideas though.

Thanks,

If it does leak im lucky to get such a freebie so might consider housing some rats in it.

if it leaks put hermit crabs inside. then u turn off all the lights in ur home, pop in a " ocean sounds" cd, and look at ur fish tank , then close ur eyes and run really fast to ur hermit crab tank, and look at them , and then run back and look at ur fish... and do that 5-6 times, and then u'll feel like u r at a beach! sweet!

all right dude! way to go!

Well wasn't that interesting?
Anyways, congrats on the tank, but even if it didn't leak, I'd get the rats anyways. I'm guessing you already have fish, so why not add a new kind of pet to your inventory

Some probably are, but all depends on how high & wide they are to.

mines 48x12x18 so works out to 37.38 uk gallons. So slightly under 40g but hey whats 2 gallons when its free ....!!!!

Tanks cleaning up nicley as well. going to do a tank diary on it from start to finish so keep your eyes peeled.
