Gorgeous

Is the sky really that color, or did you use a polarizing filter?

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

gomer : still waiting to be edited. 5gigs of raw files, as well as a gig just for a wedding i shot can be tedious progress.

as is work, and 7 other rolls to be processed.

be patient

You can see the mountains on a clear day from DIA so it's still Colorado. He's on the border though.

I don't get to Denver much, just zip through a couple times a year on my way to Wisconsin, but if you're ever coming this way e-mail me and we'll have you over.

Meriadoc, did you move here from Australia?

Yup, I live in Denver out by Denver International Airport (DIA).

ferret :

we've got a house in lakewood, CO, just outside of Denver. After being there, and coming back to dallas, we're not wanting to move back up there. But since our house is being rented out, our next opportunity to move back there is in october next year.

But then we'd have to find something to do with this house here in dallas. Probably end up renting it out or something like that.

Oh, how I hope to move back there...

More pics to come later.

Montrose isn't so bad, lots of just regular folks here but in a half hour I can be in the mountains or at the Black Canyon or out in the semi-arid hills chasing Chuckars.

I want to see Australia some day but that's going to have to wait until the kids grow up and quit eating my groceries.

Mike (that's my husband's name too) :

I'm jealous that you live up there - I fell in love with that place - and would really like to live there. Course, it is a very touristy area, because of ski season, and summer in the mountains, but that's all part of the fun

Next time e-mail (look in my profile) me and let me know. We'll have you and whoever comes with you over to dinner. That'll give you a reason to go over Red Mountain Pass.

There's also some pretty cool hot springs in Ouray and Ridgeway. The Black Canyon is here too.

Gotta love the mountains, Mike

not this time. the furthest we went was silverton.. I wanted to do the san juan skyway, but never got the time to do all of it, pity really.

we stayed at a great lodge just south of the durango mountain resort called the silverpick lodge - great place! Can't wait to go back there.

If I'd have known you were in the San Juans you could have stoppped by. I live in Montrose.

It's beautiful here. My favorite spot up there is South Mineral. Did you come north at all?

Hey DRO, do you live in Colorado?

Mike

janna : with the lens I was using (ultra wide angle), its pretty much impossible to put a filter on because of the bulging front element, and also the use of polarizing filters on ultrawides and at high altitudes (we were about 11,000 feet up) turns the sky a REALLY dark blue, almost black.

I'll post some more later

DRO - its so beautiful up there - cold, but very very nice. Made it hard to come back.

DRO : it was a tad chilly - but its funny how fast I became used to it, that 70 degrees started feeling mighty hot!

More to come later.

Colorado is beautiful.

I haven't been there in a long time, but I'd love to take a road trip through there.

And I'm probably the only person outside of Colorado that knows about Alferd Packer.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
