last night my little girl poured a big cup of water straight into the keyboard of my wifes laptop.(while turned on)
i pulled it apart and left it under the ceiling fan for hours put it back together and it works fine

bloody lucky as it has all my wifes work stuff on it.

Yer lucky nothing shorted out while it was on (or did it, and it shut off when it did?)

You should probably let it sit out and dry (don't need to rip it apart again, tho) for atleast a few days to be sure all of the nooks and crannies are dried out, and that no water got soaked up by anything

i pulled the battery straight out and its definately dry , but it is amazing just how much water was still in there and hour or two later , must have been at least a quarter of a cup

Get your data backed up off it anyway - water can cause failures for quite a while after it was spilt!
