the topic should have been: 'What would u rather have? ps2 or x-box? (and if you answer Xbox, you are wrong)'

To me, the PS2 is a big let down. I loved my original playstation. I am interested in PSPs when they come out though.

I just did a google poll.

Searched for:

* "XBOX is better than the PS2": 413 responses in favour of Xbox

* "PS2 is better than the XBOX": 194 responses in favour of PS2

I just did a search,
ps2 is better:8936879456873465872983.
x-box is better:24

ps2 will always win against xbox and gc, it is obvious sony won this console war.

Just saw this today, I know Final Fantasy is a huge series for PS2.

Uh? the FFs suck? I think the hoardes of supersaiyinDarkCloudSephirothFFX1 fanboys would disagree with you. So would the fact that this single game saved square from bankrupcy (hence the name Final Fantasy--as it was intended to be their "Final Fantasy", so to speak hyuck hyuck hyuck :is hit by a pan: ), and that sales of the following sequels (and Chrono Trigger) helped boost the company up to one of the "big three" SNES labels of the time. In fact, IMO, X was a rather mediocre game compared with other FFs. Graphically, it was spectacular, but truth betold, nothing in the game was particularly revolutionary.

have u seen metal gear solid 3 and gt4 graphics? they are better then alot of xbox games. PS2 all the way, cant wait tomorrow so i can pick up gt4.

i would say GTA games for ps2 and Madden 2005 for xbox.

GTA is also avilable on Xbox, San Andreas will be out shortly.

XBOX is a far better DVD player. I believe it is a 16x. I also would like to say that if u compare the graphics of HALO 2 to the graphics of ANY game on the PS2, you will see that the PS2 can't touch XBOX in the graphics department.

well i like them both as i have them both.i like Ps2 for the Grand theft auto games,but i recently got xbox for xmas and i seem to like that better since i beat all the games fgor my ps2.

Die Hard Dreamcast fan here.

I don't play video games much, but I still like the fact that the dreamcast can play other box's games, and can play burned disks without needing a mod chip installed. Unless the newer ones can do this. I doubt it tho.

Sony did not kill the dreamcast. Sega did. It's ability to play burned games was costing them a fortune in lost revenue from lack of game sales.

People would simply rent the game and burn a copy..*cough* not that I would ever do such a horrid act.

I own an Xbox and I like it. Can't say much about which is better since I never did try the PS2. Anyway the original games are cheaper for the Xbox over here since they aren't imports, so budget wise the Xbox is better from where I am. I am thinking of getting a Gamecube though... When's my bonus coming?

Anyway, I replied because someone was asking about Fable. Fable is a role playing game which can be played 2 ways, the long way or the short way. The short way is to rush through all the main quests. If you play that way you would think that the game is over hyped and too short for the money paid. I liked Fable because I took my time. I leveled my character, I got married in each village, went to bed with my wives often(Ermm is this statement considered not family friendly? Mods please remove it if it is not), murdered townsfolk and I became a property tycoon owning many buildings and renting them out. At one time I was basically travelling to each town to collect the rent. The graphics are pretty OK, not the best that Xbox has to offer.(Think Dead or Alive Ultimate) Story is the usual, kid's village is ravaged by bandits, kid learns to fight and use magic, kid kills the big bad nasty guy who killed his parents. Yeah, that short, but I recommend Fable to those who have had dreams of being a hero and could not. You can be good and have butterflies flitting around you when ever you move around or you can be bad and have flies buzzing around you. If you have had a bad day, you can go around doing rude gestures at townsfolk but your reputation can go down because of that. You can play pub games, drink alcohol and get fat eating unhealthy food. It's just a great big fantasy world. Well maybe not that big but big enough for one player.

That's just my review of the game, hope that helps.

I love the PS2, hands down. It plays my old favorites (Final Fantasy VII, etc.), plays DVD's, CD's, and the newer games too. Granted, the graphics aren't as great as the XBOX, and Halo is only on XBOX, but I can live without them.
