I am sure this question has been asked loads and loads.
I was sitting here tonight watching my guys swim around, they just completely fascinate me.
I remember my sister's first husband(who she really should have put in a tank ] had a sea water tank and i could have only been about 7 or 8 and I sat the WHOLE afternoon in front of the tank, my dad carried me out in the end cos I fell asleep in front of it. I just though they were beautiful.

Poll options
They completely fascinate me

- I just can't get over how beautiful they and love watching (more then TV)

I am interested in the breeding/developing new strains

- do you pair up fish and breed in the hope of finding a new strain/perfect fish?

I have never been without a fish tank

- did your folks have one so it would be weird to be without one?

I won /bought a Goldfish and it went from there

- was you first fish a goldfish or similar "starter" fish (any newbies reading Goldfish are not good starter fish!!) and now you have more tanks then you though possible!(that would be me now!!)

Creating the perfect environment interests me

- I know of people in the lfs I use who search and search for the right rocks plants sand etc for a particular fish in the hope of recreating nature - not exactly possible for most fish but you get the idea.

well thanks for reading and hopefully voting

its my first poll so I ma little nervous!!

GFG
xx

I love working on my tank and getting it to look good, but the real reason I am keeping fish is because I love that new, beautiful species are being discovered and imported all the time, and I want to keep as many of them as possible.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Not interested in developing new strains, just in breeding. There is nothing like breeding a fish that no one else has. And then, doing it again, just to satisfy your idea of it being a fluke.

Or, breeding a fish that is extremely difficult, and requires much attention.

I also enjoy the reconition for breeding, and the awards, as well as all the great friends that I have met along the way, through my local clubs.

As well, the little bit of extra income so that I can support my fish habbit, lol.

My favorite is when I breed a fish in a way that others say is impossible. Like when I bred discus in very hard alkaline water.

All of the above

Although I was sort of into the hobby when I got a fair goldfish... although my first fish in my own tank were zebra danios...

*shrugs*

Bettas have always had such personalities and were better friends than the brats I went to school with. I could sit there and watch them for hours. Heck, I still do that....

And other fish as well, all so quite interesting to watch =^_^=

My kids wanted to see the fish at WalMart - so we ended up getting one feeder goldfish for each of them. We have one of those left and many, many other fish now too. (Sad and long story about the one that we lost).
