I stopped supporting it after i read some of the stuff they posted on there.

I still DONT support dyed fish though.

I have never seen any proof that bettas are dyed, just there it is, plain as day in the list.

I've never even heard of it but for that site.

Makes you wonder.

Although i still DO NOT agree with dying.

cally - I sent the founder an email, and he actually responded....

The bit of information about Betta dyeing came from the fact that many Bettas are dyed with stripes along their backs - much like painted glassfish. These stripes are of varying gaudy, fluorescent colors, and fade with time, all of which are characteristics of dyeing. Luckily, I have only seen 2 shipments of these Bettas, and that was about 2 years ago. Since Bettas are already beautiful without dyeing, they seem to be less of a "hot item" once dyed - no difference in sales is really experienced.

I can imagine the backlash with that, since the breeders themselves put so much effort into breeding new colours. Whoever did it would not have been getting the fish supplies to do it a 2nd time.
