Too much Air??? | |
tetraguy3 Small Fry Posts: 12 Kudos: 7 Votes: 2 Registered: 01-Apr-2006 | A friend of mine thinks that I might have too much air in my 5 gallon that is created by my 18" bubblewand. Ive never thought that there is such a think as too much air in an aquarium... is there a such thing?? tetraguy3 |

zman Hobbyist Posts: 76 Kudos: 73 Votes: 63 Registered: 19-Feb-2006 | tetraguy I only know that the only instance where you don't wan't too much air introtuced into a tank is when you are trying to maintain CO2 levels for planted tanks..other than that I try to put as much air as possible into all my non planted tanks. what is the problem other than your freind thinking that you have too much air, are your fish ill or showing any symptoms of sickness? |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | I suppose if the entire tank was a turbulent mix of bubbles and the fish had trouble swimming it could be a problem. Otherwise even if you run bubbles wands along the entire back of the tank and toss in a few airstones as well it shouldn't be too much. Completely unnecessary and pointless unless you really like the look of bubbles but not exactly harmful. |

So times my serpae swim sideways.. think its the bubbles and the current from the bubblewand and filter causing this?? i think that the serpae just sometimes swim funny.. tetraguy3 |
