Activity: | NonSpecific; Is active whenever food is administered, though they tend to be more skittish whilst feeding in daylight. Will readily forage about the tank when dark. |

Breeding: | Hypancistrus are often considered to be on the "second tier" of loricariid breeding in terms of ease, the first consisting of sturistoma and ancistrus. Thus, breeding is not too difficult. Given appropriately sized caves, hearty feedings, pristine water quality, and medium-high water flow, spawns will likely occur. |
