Gender: | Very difficult to tell at smaller sizes. Males grow slightly larger, while mature females are fatter. Males will also develope longer dorsal and anal fin rays as they become larger. While the females will have more rounder anal and dorsal fins. |
Breeding: | Difficult. Try lowering the water level and slightly raising the temperature when introducing new water. A large, flat rock is recommended to be placed on the bottom in the middle of a large swimming area. |
