Gender: | Mature males have a blue face, blue fins, and an orange body. Females and juveniles are grey, with yellow fins. |
Breeding: | Not difficult. A single species tank with two males and 5-6 females works well. The females are mouth brooders, and it is possible to remove a holding female to another aquarium. The fry are released after around three weeks. |

Comments: | An easily kept fish, that has several different color variations, depending on where it is collected from in the lake. They are not overly aggressive, and should not be kept with other overly aggressive fish. As they may become timid and not fare well. |
