Gender: | Adult males are brighter than females and tend to develop a slight nuchal hump. Males also have more flowing finage than females. |
Breeding: | This species is easy to spawn but it can be very difficult to find a compatible pair. Once a pair bond is formed they will spawn continually producing large broods. They will pair off and defend their spawn site/brood very aggressively. Any other fish sharing the tank will be badly bullied. |
