Care: Feed with vegetable based flakes. Needs a large aquarium with plent of swimming room. Plant they tank densely. The Striped Barb should be kept in schools.

Gender: Males have darker bands and smaller bodies. In picture: Male above, Female below.
Breeding: Use acid water, pH 6.0, and a temperature of 25°C. Make sure the tank is densly planted. Feed the fish as they spawn so they don't eat their eggs. Remove the parents after spawning for the same reason.
Comments: Easy to keep and breed. Good for beginners.
