Activity: Nocturnal; Actively forages at night, though it can be induced out in daylight by food.
Gender: This species stays quite small and has little noticable difference in pectoral odontodal growth. Interopercular odontodes in males are longer, and females generally have clean white bellies, whereas males have marbled undersides.
Breeding: A tight fitting cave is a necessity, and conditioning should involve multiple large, soft water changes and heavy feeding of live, protein rich foods.
Comments: Difficult to distinguish between L-136 a and b, both of which look very similar to L-262, but hail from the Rio Negro, not Tapajos.
