Hygrophylia polysperma

Description: Stem plant, light green in color, except in high light where it has the ability to turn brown or even red. Fast growing, sturdy, undemanding background plant.
Potential Height: 50cm   (19.7")
Growth Rate: Fast
Care: Provided with good light and other nutrients, this plant will become a weed. Can become leggy under less than ideal lighting. Not picky about nutrients, but prefers a rich substrate and available macronutrients.

20°C - 30°C
68°F - 86°F
5 - 9
1 dH - 18 dH
Lighting: Will grow under low lighting, but will do best at two or more watts per gallon of fluorescent lighting.
Propagation: As with other stem plants, cuttings should be taken above, but as close as possible to the leaf node. The cutting can be replanted and the old plant should be able to sprout a new side shoot.
Comments: One of the sturdiest, fastest growing stem plants. A staple in the trade for those reasons.
