Old Text: | Parancistrus are limnivores, deriving much of their nutrition from organic film deposits (aufwuchs). They are undemanding fish in regards to feeding and will accept most prepared foods. An interesting note; males of this species is capable of changing it's color from goldish yellow to dark brown, especially ounced when stressed. The golden form of this species, referred to as the "xanto" pleco, fetch very high prices on the market. Applicable to any Rio Tocantins fish, this species enjoys a
