I would go with a more natural look & add some stones.

He's going to need a couple of caves. Maybe some plastic plants (only ones I know that can survive brackish water).

Id agree with jason on this one, puffers are very observant and intelligent, i'd go for the all natural materials aquarium, it may well make the puffers feel more at home (who knows,- maybe they can tell the difference!)

Plus with natural materials you tend not to get the problems of synthetic molded decorations, which i often find let water in , but not circulate, which leads to stagnant water in the tank which is released when you lift or move the decorations, thusly leading to water quality issues.

If youre worried about the types of rocks you use try slate- its mostly inert and wont affect water chemistry - but make sure you round off sharp edges with a blunt object or sandpaper- you dont want a punctured puffer.Slate can be broken to make stacks, and is strong enough to make large bridges and overhangs, and will probably be the only thing in the tank your puffer cant bite chunks out of.

A warning though, make sure its very well balanced and secured as slate will go through glass like no other rock should it fall or collapse.
