I am tired of my 55 gallon tank. I want color, color, color! Please check my profile to see current inhabitants.
I was thinking, what can I do? I want to keep my geophagus daemon(demon eartheater), and 1 blue acara and my severum. would I be able to add german blue rams, and cardinals? Or would the severum eat the tetras? I am willing to part with my current tetras, cause well, I just don't want them. Help!

(listed wrong fish)

I heard that you shoudl only have one severum to the tank, unless you plan on breeding them. Maybe a couple of small german blue rams or so. Some one correct me on the severum idea that i heard, if i am wrong

I wouldn't put more than 1 male severum in the tank. Then again I wouldn't put more than 1 male of any of those cichlids in the tank. a 55 really isn't that big of a tank and the 3 cichlids you have will really feel the tank up once they approach adult size. I wouldn't add anything to the tank except for maybe a school of dithers. Some type of dither that will only grow to around 2-3" that have a roundish body shape should be fine.

if you want to find a mate for any of the cichlids you have, then I'd seriously recommend getting rid of the others. a breeding pair of any of the 3 species you have will be too territorial, imo, to have any other cichlids in the tank.

As for the couple of Blue Rams, I would advise against it. IME more than 1 pair of Blue Rams and the remaining (even if paired) less dominant fish will be dealt with by the dominating pair. If you got all females or males it might be do-able except for the fact of the other big cichlids.
