How do you tell the gravity, I have never heard of this is only for some fish?

i am not really sure but isn't that when u put the salt water into a divice and the pointer goes up and tells what the gravity is. i think it is only for salt water.

Specific Gravity is the measure of the weight of a liquid per unit of volume. I forget the exact forumula, but pure freshwater has a SG of 1.0...Mercury has a SG of 14 (that's 14 times as dense as FW...bricks and bowlingballs will float in it , SW has a SG of 1.02-1.03ish (depending on the amount of salt in it), etc
