I hardly ever see them, and constantly think they are dead/escaped/injured. I have a 2.5 Gallon tank that is currently housing my female betta bailey and sherridan the apple snail. I could move these to my 25G - sort of do a swop over? Do you think the frogs would be happier in the 2.5? or at least a smaller tank(ie a 5G). the current in the 25G is pretty strong. they do eat(not that i see this I just figure hey they are still alive!?) and have loads of hiding places in the 25G opinions please. should i move them? cheers GFG Last edited by goldfishgeek at 04-Aug-2005 20:03 Never be bullied into silence. They don't like deep tanks (too hard to get to the surface), but other than that (assuming there's no predators ) they should be fine. If it's more than 12" tall, I personally wouldn't put them in there...My guess is that they'd probably be happiest in a 5-10g ![]() They tend to scavenge 'round a lot for food, as opposed to directly eating when you feed them... that's why you don't see 'em eat much, if at all ![]() Good luck ![]() |

I think they would be more "pets" if i kept them in a smaller tank? as in i would be able to kepp more of an eye on them instead of the current panic hunting i do now. hmmmm. any more views? GFG ps. would a female betta count as a predator? Last edited by goldfishgeek at 05-Aug-2005 09:43 Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. poisonwaffle![]() ![]() Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 ![]() | Nah, female bettas won't harm them...I'm thinking like large cichlids as predators ![]() I would personally keep the frogs in a 5g, but I don't see any problems with keeping them in the 25g... Good luck ![]() |

I was wrong when i said the little one had gone missing - this is the biggest one. he is quiet dark in colour and the other two are kinda grey. i will take photos later. but have you any suggestions? Sorry I can't help you...I hope your froggy is okay ![]() |

(actually i think Keith found that one,) which is very good and has led to me rearranging their tank completely(with them in a jug*) I added Primafix to the water(2 mls in the 2.5G). i did that about an hour ago and he has stopped floating..... he did struggle alot to get down to the bottom tho. I though watching Goldfish with dropsey was bad. twice this afternoon I really thought he was dead. he just laid on his back and DID NOT move. horrid. i will continue to use Prima fix. see what happens. just as i am typing he did this funny kind of stretching thing and opened his mouth really wide. he hasn't moved since. * the other two got out of the jug. OH Boy can these guys move fast. some one should of told them they are aquatic - they don't move that quick in the tank! cheers GFG http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/id18.html Last edited by goldfishgeek at 07-Aug-2005 11:57 Never be bullied into silence. I've had the same setup for years with no problems. They would also be happy in a 5 gallon, but it really doesn't matter. For disease, I'd say bloat or impaction. |

I think they greatly appreciate the space. It is very tall- 20 inches. The frogs have no problems reaching the top. I think it improves their strength to have the exercise I would say move them to the 25g tank and get them some more buddies.
