![]() | Blue Lobster with Lemon Tetras |
kmpaton![]() Hobbyist Posts: 91 Kudos: 75 Votes: 36 Registered: 26-Feb-2005 ![]() ![]() | Would I encounter any problems with this? Right now I have 8 Lemon Tetras in a 20 gal high with a mystery snail and would like to add a Blue Lobster or crayfish. Kyle |

The only thing that might save the tetras is that they are fast, but I still think you'll find that your tetra population diminishes one at a time over several weeks and the crayfish gets fat and happy. Crayfish are one of those cool aquarium animals that are neat to watch, but not community compatible. It's difficult to strike a balance between fish that are large and agressive enough to not get eaten and fish too large and agressive that they'll eat the crayfish. You could keep one by itself (with adaquate plant and driftwood for cover) in a 10 gallon or so. It wouldn't hurt to add a feeder fish now and then. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
