anyone know what to feed a billon brine shrimp well just looks like a billon theres a bunch
I bought one of those hatcheries a while back because it just looked interesting and not bad priced
I followed instructions and wow it worked great
just what I needed a billon sea monkeys
I'm trying a little experiment I set up a 5 gal brackish tank a couple weeks ago with constant light and plants java moss and some floating plant unknown but seems to do well with the salt in a bare bottom tank ,
my question is what all can you feed them ?
I know of using yeast and water solution I just don't know the amount of yeast to use in it ?
by setting the tank up a while back I'm hoping it can almost be self contained
on the weekly water changes would it help to use water out of my brackish tank for them ?

Hmmm I would be interested in the answer myself. I only raise BS for a food for fry and small fish. Never really thought about raising them just themselves.

Would food for sea anemenias work? something like photo plankton?

A quick net search came up with this article

I would think that if the eventual aim is to feed the shrimp to your fish it would be worthwhile gut-loading the shrimp with foods that have some additional nutritional value like spirulina powder or something like that.

Looking forward to hearing how this experiment turns out for you.
