I posted this in another thread that I started a couple days ago, a log of sorts... But i wanted some inverts folks to maybe weigh in if possible. I have a 29g already set up and it has cherry shrimp and a couple weeks ago i moved fish in different tanks. I moved my Julidochromis Rengani (Zambian Julies) into the tank with them and although I haven't seen a decrease in the population I haven't been seeing them out as much (which may be a sign of decreased population, but i'm not sure). I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with keeping similar dwarf cichlids with shrimp at all and if I should be worried for the shrimp...

Thanks,
-Brandon

I think your Julies are taking out your shrimp... I kept mine with Kribs and the kribs took them down one after another....

The Kribs did have some awesome color after the feast though..

Hi,
I would agree. I tried shrimp in my tank and the
Black Skirt Tetras had a feast at my expense.

The strange thing is.... I had a group of 6 bluefin killi fish that took out a large population of shrimp in my 55G. Bluefins are just little fish with little mouths but they could take down some shrimp! Now I also have shrimp in a 20 long with a pair of paradise fish. They ate quite a few to start out but now I have a large population of shrimp again. I have not caught the paradise fish eating any shrimp in quite a while. I would think that they paradise fish would continue to feast on the shrimp. Maybe there is just enough to go around and the population continues to grow.
