Is this a ghost shrimp?

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

Looks like one to me.
There are several varieties of shrimp that get passed off as "Ghost" shrimp. Yours might be quite young or a different species, as it doesn't have the characteristic "hump" in the middle of it's back/tail that one of the more common varieties does.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I'm leaning towards no but without a better side view I can't say what it is for certain. Search up amano shrimp in google.com images and see if it matches those. They are mostly clear so look similar to ghost shrimp but have different markings on the side and less of the hump.

Yup, the colour is lacking but thats not unusual in a young specimen. Structurally its the same as an amano. Has to be. Looky.

This one is over 3 years old and near on 2 inches long, hence the bright and rich colour, but they do start out fairly transparent.I bought a few babies a few months back and they all look just like the ones in your pictures.Personally I like them better than ghosts, I think theyre a bit prettier, a better scavenger and algae eater too.
