I opened my filter today in search for a lost fish, didn't find it and saw tons of little snails. How on earth do I get rid of them? I noticed that when I turned the filter back on a bunch flew out of the filter then became snacks to my fish.

I noticed a while ago, that the snails either lay eggs in the filter somehow or the eggs get sucked up through the intake. So whenever you clean your filter rinse them out into a bucket that has clear tank water in it. Then you can just dump them into the tank for the fish as a snack. Your fishies will love you more for it.
