Don't do it.

I bought a couple of these for my aquarium, which contains, at the moment, nothing more dangerous (supposedly!) than 11 Cardinal Tetras. 48 hours later, the shrimp are dead. Even though 5 of the Cardinals are smaller than the shrimp, it seems the Cardinals decided to treat them as a chew toy. They'd last about 5 seconds with Rams.

How big are your rams and how big are your shrimp?

I just dumped 4 cherry shrimp (1/2\" ) in with my Columbia tetras (large adults) as a test in a 55. Results unknown yet.

Next step was going to be in with my rams.

I\'ve found water changes even with chlorine remover deadly to shrimp and crab. I age my water now for all my tanks and pump it.

Most cichlids and invertebrates should not mix. That usually includes ram. Sometimes you get some that are content with other activities and decide shrimp shoot off too fast. More frequently these intelligent fish will stalk your tank for things to pick at and slowly kill shrimp and snails.
