I named my new betta, Rufio.( He's red with black lace and an itsy-bitsy bit of blue).

My Betta's called llewelyn.
According to my g/f who named him it means lion like in welsh.

He is cute!!!

My bettas name is Sailor, b/c he is redish/pink and blue. I went by the poem red sky at night, Sailors delight, etc. and combined it with the fact that the sky is obviously blue. And he certainly is my delight. Like everyones been saying, base it on color, personality, or personal preference to get a good name.

My Betta's name is Oreo. He lives on the kitchen counter by the cookie jar.

My males are as follows:

Vitae (which means Life)
Liberty
Justice
Pursuit (as in "of happiness"
Equity

Liberty is red, white and blue and started the trend... couldn't figure out a name for Justice, so he got matched up with Liberty... and well, the trend continues. Vitae IS the liveliest out of the bunch. Pursuit... well, Pursuit is new and still a bit timid, so he hides like he's being pursued...

Equity is my work betta. He resides here in my accounting office, so he was given a name to suit.

Thalia
Erato
Calliope
Clio
Euterpe
Poly (short for Polyhymnia)

My girls are my muses, and so I named them after the Greek Muses.

Go by your feelings, the color, personality or habits of the betta. Perhaps describe him when you get him and then we can help you name him from there.

The ones that I named are:
Mortimer, Wally (got from Walmart), Ziggy, Rochester (got in Rocheste, Mn), Sampson, and Turk (torqouise colored).

I'm not gonna give the names to the other 6 that we have that my wife named... they're all Disney names

Light_Bright how do you keep track of all your bettas names?

My boys are Jim (youngest son named him after his imaginary friend ), Randy (from the town he was purchased in), Splash (chosen by my husband), and Tempo (he's the same color as my car which is a Tempo )

Mine have been named after their colours/fins.

Jimi - He's purple (think Jimi Hendrix)
Malcolm - he's a butterfly so he's named after Malcolm
Mclaren
Fred - a crowntail and looked like he had fingers like Freddy Kruger!

My betta male's name is Guts. He has a kinda pugnacious, darn-'em-all attitude that earned him his name.

Don't be in a rush to name him. Get to know his personality, that may suggest a name to you.
