How can u tell apart male and female Gourmies?
can they be kept with guppies, platies,bettas??

Usually males have longer dorsal fins. They will be fine with those other fish.

that's easy for dwarfs

Female dwarf gouramies much more drab colored and gray
Male dwarf gouramies are the bright colored ones

Gourmais and bettas together would not be a good idea. The betta will see the gourami and a threat, and they will fight. However, gouramis are good with platies and guppies.

The females are grey in colour & yes, the male will be Ok on his own.
