goldfishgeek![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 667 Kudos: 412 Votes: 38 Registered: 27-Oct-2003 ![]() ![]() | my female who lives in my forty gallon community tank has gone white all on her underside, she looks swollen (but i did feed the tank a lot yesterday. i was thinking either dropsey or constipation. given that most of the deaths in the tank are from dropsey or sudden and out the blue type deaths i am not holding out much hope for constipation. I have moved her to a smaller container with a few floating plants. it is covered with gaps for air. i haven't fed her. not really sure what to do oh i added melafix to the water, which is half tank and half fresh temp matched. if she pine cones i shall have to put her down. she is basically swollen and white on her belly. any suggestions GFG xx Never be bullied into silence. If you fed her alot then it may very well be constipation - I would starve her for abbout 3-4 days and then feed her some daphnia or a bit of a pea. Watch her closely to see if she pinecones. At that point you can either try aggressive meds, or put her down, or just let her go on her own. Dropsy actually can be reversed.. but it's really a gamble. |
