A couple of weeks ago while I was picking up a couple of items in my lfs I perused their male Betta selection while waiting in line to check out.... I saw 2 BEAUTIFUL, all white male Bettas - which frankly, I would have bought in an instant if I hadn't been in a "time crunch" at the time... I did go back to the lfs as soon as I could - but of course, these 2 Bettas were gone ..... I'd never seen pure white males before and my lfs hasn't gotten any in since then (although I did place a special order request)..... So I was just wondering - is all white a rare color for male Bettas? I've seen white female Bettas - even have a couple... But NEVER males! Boy oh boy! Would I LOVE to get one! They are gorgeous!!!!

whites arent known as cambodian. Cambodian refers to a light body color that gets darker towards the tips of the fins. Whites are known as opaque.

I have seen some of the BEST looking fish at Petsmart. All kinds of colors and one was all white with a tint of green and he had the Crowntail too. I think more and more we will be seeing fancier bettas in pet stores. It use to be all we saw were blues, reds, and greens.

I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! :%) I should be the proud owner of an all white (opaque) male betta sometime tomorrow afternoon! It will probably be a Splendens --- as that is usually what Jack's Aquarium (my lfs) stocks.... I'd had our local store submit a special order request for my dream betta - then emailed the corporate office to gather information on the chances of receiving this betta.... Much to my delight I received a response earlier today - stating that they'd picked out a white male betta for me, along with 6 African Dwarf Frogs (which I'd also requested).... They told me to call the local store tomorrow and pick up my fish!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Just this weekend I went to ThatFishPlace's store. They had 2 all white males and 3 almost all white males. I was very tempted, but I was looking for a female, so I controlled the urge to buy any male.
