No it hasen't, not by mixing store bought bettas anyway... So don't try it... It will end badly.

There is a way to do it, but it requires you being a breeder and a lot of luck.

Release capslock... it's annoying...

male bettas will kill each other if kept together. Remember it only takes one of them to be aggressive to kill them both. They are not ever supposed to be kept together. Usually when someone says they have 2 males together, it is really 2 extended fin females.

I agree with john.stone for the sake of the fish please don't try it - It will only end with dead or badly beaten fish.

I'm keeping two males (not long finned females) at the moment in a 3ft tank together with a single female, there's also mollies and 2 angels and they get along fine. They're very aware of each other and you could say almost like each other? They've been together for 3 weeks so far and I'm still keeping a good watch on them to make sure that things don't suddenly change

I would NEVER advise anyone to do this but I think it can work on rare occasions. Anyone that has kept a number of bettas knows how very different their personalities can be. Some refuse to flare at anything (these two males are like that) and others will flare at an insect that has landed in it's tank.

It's possible but it's improbable.

I wouldn't do it personally, but it's up to you. I don't think it's possible to have 2 male Bettas in the same tank.

What I said was from personal experience. I have seen males kill each other. The "winner" died about a day later. I watched it all at my lfs when 2 bettas got out of the betta barracks.

i too have done it, with all my bettas, sometimes they even swam next to eachother, but 1 was the dominate fish ovcourse and he is always the one who is in the tank first.

In a large enough area it could be done (I've seen it in outdoor ponds)..OR in a not so large area but with males with the right personalities. I have a 6ft long tank that I used to keep half a dozen female bettas in (among other fish) and a male betta . I had a number of male bettas in small tanks and would switch out periodically to let them all have some time in the "big tank". Some chased the females a little..some were scared of the females..some ignored the females..and 1 was totally petrified in a big tank so I took him out asap. They each had very unique personalities.
