ScottF Fish Addict Addiction Hurts!! Posts: 542 Kudos: 330 Votes: 355 Registered: 28-May-2007 | As I plan the stock for my peaceful 55g community, I find myself interested in perhaps keeping a Gourami or two. So, if anyone has any suggestons, I'd love to have them. My pH stays around 8.2 - 8.0 so that should be taken into consideration. As for tankmates, I am looking at various peaceful tetras, guppies, corys, maybe some snails, maybe some shrimp eventually. The other feature fish will be Bolivian Rams, IF I can find some. Thanks! |

They are pretty nice and hardy, but if you have any nippy fish they are out of the question. Had them with tiger barbs about a year ago and it was like a 24/7 war zone with baby tiger barbs and the gourami... Dwarves are nice and stay relatively small and more peaceful. also more colorful. A pair of dwarves would do rather well in a 55g` \\\\\\\"an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure\\\\\\\" |

The other types aren't bad as well. Gourami are very hardy and don't really have special requirements. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
