The Hikari Betta Bio-Gold seems to the top pick of my Bettas as well... Although I do have two male bettas who seem to go for flakes and my females appear to like New Life Spectrum All Purpose Pellets (probably because they're in a community tank - and hide out a lot - so since these pellets sink, they find them readily available)... I also feed frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms - which all my tank residents seem to enjoy immensely - even my ADFs!
I'd really like to see pictures of your Betta! Hope you're more computer literate than I am - I just don't understand how to provide a link for pictures!

Hikari Betta Bio Gold is def the way to go, when i introduced it to my betta he refused to eat his flakes from that moment on . Peas and bloodworms make good treats as well.

Hey Troy, make sure that your log ornament is large enough for bettas! They're *really* curious and like to stick their heads in things just to take a look around but then sometimes they get stuck!

OK, I bought HBH betta food for $3.

I also got an aqua one hollow log ornament for $13 and bought 3 peppered cory for $12.

I was a little worried at the introduction of the cory as the betta was nipping at them but after an hour (and a few aggressive headbutts from the cory) the betta gave up and is not interested in them any more.

Congratulations! He sounds like a really unique betta! I wanna see pics.

Anyway I feed my bettas Hikari Betta Bio Gold and it's my favourite food. They really like it too. They also get a shelled pea once a week and bloodworms 1-2 times a week. I'm really happy with this diet and they seem to like it a lot too.

I just bought a new betta. He is bright blue/pink/pastel yellow. That collour scheme tells me that he is a 1980s fashion victim and have therfore named him Don Johnston. (that dude from Miami Vice)

Got a question about bettas though. I was just wondering what is the best foods I can feed him? he is not keen on flakes so I am searching for substitutes.

Also, I will be adding a cory or 2 temporarily to see if they can co exist. I have been told and have read that they can and that it depends on the bettas temperament. Anyhow, I will send them back to the store if the betta doesnt like them. But wish them luck for me anyway.

Hikari betta biogold
HBH betta bites
Hikari micro pellets

i have had success with all of them.

the housing is a 11g under gravel filter bowfront tank.

I will consider putting up to 4 cory in there.

Congrats on the betta find...I want to see a pic of the 80's betta.

A great food for bettas is Hakari betta bio gold. They are tiny pellets. Feed a few a day. My betta loves 'em.

About the cory...are you going to keep them in a filtered tank and how big is the tank? Bettas can co-exist with cories, but I think it would not be fun for the cory to live by itself.

Good luck.
