One of the biggest here in germany says it is ok...
"Males must be kept separately. Keep only one male with several females."
See: http://www2.sera.de/protected/content/content.php?page=73&language=en
I don't think this is actually right, but they are pretty direct.

From their e-mail where they reply to my question about a 63L setup with 1 male + 2 females(I asked them about this setup I found following a link they sent me on their first reply):
"not in a 63 liter tank (people over here keep Betta _couples_ (1/1) in
there without any problems), but in a planted 80 cm / 126 liter tank
this will work out, as experience over here shows."

From their website, where they write nothing about how big the aquarium must be, the average joe could get the impression that he can keep 1 male with several females in a 50L aquarium. Imagine. I mean, you have the example of the guy that keeps 1 male and 2 females in a 63L(and has 80+cm of adult fish in the same aquarium).

This is pretty sick
(or am I wrong?)

From what I understand (which isn't much), male bettas will attack female bettas even if there is plenty of room and hiding spaces in the tank. You could get a divider and when the are ready to mate let them have their fun, then back to separate areas. I don't like trying new things which may result in an unnecessary fish death. Talk with people who have tried this before you try.

Actually I do not want to try out something like that.
I am just annoyed by the advice they give on their website. That's all.
That's why I posted too, to get some feedback on this matter.

My mistake. I thought you were writing that site asking if you could keep them together. I should have read you post more carefully.
