i have no idea why he died the day before yesterday he was fine, eating, pooping, flairing, and well other stuff fish like to do, yesterday he dident eat his supper, he had 1 clamped fin and had a slight loss of color, but after i put him in a new container with a live plant i added a few drops of mela fix, and then later he was a little better, swimming with both fins but i did not feed him, because if i did it probly would only end up contaminating the water, and i knew he needed clean water.
This morning is color on his body is almost gone but his tail fin is fantastic, on the top of his head it is black all the way to his dorcel fin, it looks like he is wearing a mask even has a string looping behind the gills, 1 side of his head looks normal, but the other side is black with a litle oval behind his eye of normal color he looked like he was having some difficulty breathing but i thought it was just because of the stress.

Oh! I never thought of it like that.
You know, it seems to me like everyone is losing bettas all of a sudden. One minute they are fine, the next they are gone.

I am very sorry for your loss. I am sure dream boy was a great betta, and maybe he will come back as another fish soon, so you won't be so sad.

I lost four in the past two weeks. Two were sick rescues, one had velvet for a couple days (which I have never lost a fish too, especially that soon) and one was just old.

It does get easier, as morbid as that sounds.

But I can relate. Sorry about your little fishy
