They definitely don't have gill flukes at least from what I've read the symptoms don't match. The don't struggle for air or even swim near the surface unless it's feeding time, and they for sure haven't lost any weight. Also what could a white spot by the head be?

What kind of white spot? A grain of salt, or a white
cotton looking patch?
The grain of salt, is usually indicative of Ich, and
the white cotton like spot on the head or body can be a fungus.

I just took another look at the fish with a spot and now it seems to be going away. Are all tetras as wired as glow lights?
