I have had a few people asking what on earth happened to the betta contest.

Well, you will be pleased to know that we should have another contest ready to roll within the month

Unfortunately the previous contest is unable to be completed.
My sincerest apologies to everyone who took the time to enter.

The previous mediator of this forum decided to leave fishprofiles for personal reasons, and with him went the entries. Unfortunately there is no way for us to retrieve them

So we start fresh And I'll be there with bells on, so c'mon! get those cameras snapping!

What is the betta contest?

Hello? What is the betta contest? Anyone care to tell me about it?

from the old contest, people take pics, of there own bettas, and enter them in sections. for example hm, or veil tails, plakats, deltas, double tails, cts, and i think wilds also.

when i worked with the former judge, we based the winners on there:

color- should be clean,
body- should be strong enough to hold fins,
form- overall health.

and we would pick the best female, and male from each section, and they would become winners.

umm. hard to say. i talked with calla and everybody, and she told me that maybe in a week or two. so save those pics of the bettas.

All the pics I take of my bettas are blurry

heres a tip if u can, set your camera on macro, and if u have a very frisky flairing betta, use the flash, tilt the camera to an angle to prevent the flash reflection, if the flash alters its colors, then stand the camera on somthing stedy, maybe a pile of books, keep the mirror to his tank for a bit, till he gets used to it, he should then not be so aggressive tords it, and should stay stiller, hundreds of pics may have to be taken, but its worth it and fun if you want to see pics of my bettas, go here as u can see in some of my bettas, its blurry becasue they either moved, or i was in a hurry lol
