I was wondering what types of frogs are compatible w/ bettas other than ADF's? I'm interested in adding one to my betta Sailor's tank b/c it looks so boring...its 2.5 gallons. Any ideas?

The only fully aquatic frogs that I know of are the ADF and ACF. And the ACF definitly cannot be kept with a Betta. If there are any others, you probably can't find them as easily. But try searching the net. If there is any other fully aquatic frogs, you should be able to find some info.

2.5 is really quite small, have you considered a snail or some shrimp?

At my lps which is a chain but has very good fish, they have these frogs, which I cannot remember the name of for the life of me. They come in a greenish brownish color and they also come in albino, and they are always fully underwater. The lady there told me they should be compatible with a betta, but will outgrow the tank since they get very large. She said I could bring him back once he gets too big, or I could even put him in my friends pond (Fishie561). These guys start out pretty small, I'd say maybe def. not more than 2 inches. Any thoughts?

I dont think I'd like a snail...shrimp might be cool...I've never considered it before. I think it might be a bigger problem trying to find some though...what types would I get? Ghost?

Ghost would be good, I know there are other kinds, though I am not familiar with them at all. Maybe you should ask about them in the inverts forum. However, the shrimp could make a tasty treat for your betta if he decides they look good.

Do NOT get the albino frog, it is an ACF (African Clawed Frog). It WILL get large, and it WILL eventually try to eat your betta, or anything else it can fit in its mouth. I would try a shrimp or two, but get a decent size or the Betta will just look at it as a treat!
